Tax Shop Durbanville is part of the Tax Shop Franchise group, the first accounting and tax franchise in South Africa. While we traditionally service small & medium size businesses, we have grown to successfully service large entities too.

At Tax Shop Durbanville we are more than a group of accountants, we are partners on your business journey. With our diverse financial expertise and cross-industry experience, we are able to “un-complicate” the complicated.

Carel Boshoff

FOUNDER & CEO

Carel started his career in the financial services sphere from an early age and kickstarted his experience within a medium sized auditing firm in Cape Town. He completed his SAICA articles gaining valuable experience in a variety of small to medium sized enterprises. Before he started the Tax Shop venture, he completed 10 years of corporate financial control and management as an AVP with Deutsche Bank Johannesburg. Carel is passionate about helping entrepreneurs realising their business dreams and assist them to act & trade within the rules and guidelines of the law. He furthered his studies in taxation (HDIP Tax) and completed his dissertation on the Taxation of International and Local Sportsmen & Women staying and travelling across international waters. Carel enjoys the outdoor life and pushing his bike gears to the limit. Family & friends are treasured most and he enjoys a good movie or reading a bestseller on improving and growing yourself.

Carli Grobler

PARTNER & MANAGING DIRECTOR

Carli’s accounting career started in 1995 at Alwyn Burger & Kie Auditors in George. In 2001 she moved to the Langkloof, where she managed an export fruit packhouse with 300+ employees. She has a great understanding of manufacturing processes, workplace ergonomics, improving quality and production, and effectively controlling costs. She has 28 years experience and a vast knowledge on different accounting platforms. She is very enthusiastic about organisational development, helping small business owners and individuals to manage and grow to their full potential. She is solution driven and analytical with a positive “can do” attitude. Carli was introduced to The Tax Shop Franchise Group in 2016, assisting 4 Western Cape Franchisees with accounting and tax matters. In 2020 she combined forces with Carel Boshoff of Tax Shop Durbanville. Beyond spending time with her husband and 5 dogs, Carli is an avid chess player that enjoys classical music, literature and gardening.

Lisa Uys

ACCOUNTANT & TAX TECHNICIAN

Lisa gained valuable experience at an international accounting firm while she studied part-time and started with Tax Shop Durbanville in 2022. With a passion for business owners and their daily struggles, she can identify both unseen risks and solutions. She is a thinker and works with all the available information before reaching a decision. She is well suited in her role with an appetite for SARS disputes and objections. Outside work, she is a co-author of novels, enjoys a braai with friends and spending time on their family farm.

Cameron Seboa

CLIENT LIASON

Cameron is a third year graduate student at Eduvos. She is currently studying to get her Bcom general degree after studying abroad for a year in 2019. With a love for the corporate industry and while completing her studies at Eduvos, she works part-time for Tax Shop Durbanville, interacting with clients and assists with capturing work. She has 3 years experience in the service industry as she works as a hostess on weekends. She likes to keep herself busy and isn’t afraid of hard work. In her free time she enjoys playing golf, going to the gym and spending time with friends.

Nuraan Jacobs

SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

Nuraan’s career started as a Jeweller’s Assistant, and from there she progressed to the banking sector. She worked for Absa Bank as a Teller and helped with customer services. She also assisted in Treasury, which made her well rounded in the Banking Industry. When offered a retrenchment package, she opted to further her studies through the ICB, to qualify as a Certified Senior Bookkeeper. She started working at Bastante Tax and Accounting Services and the Tax Shop Group. She has been in the Accounting Industry for seven years, is a master in Reconciling, VAT and Payroll and assists with preparing the Trial Balance and Balance Sheet for Annual Financial Statements. She is an avid reader and loves cooking and baking in her spare time. As a mom to an eight year old and a seventeen year old, she treasures family time.

Yonela Gola

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT INTERN

Yonela is performing an 18-month practical training internship with Tax Shop Durbanville which is a requirement to complete her Financial Management Diploma with the College of Cape Town. She is a diligent team-player and her inherent sense of responsibility, combined with an analytical mindset, is a strength she leverages to execute her work excellently. She is a seasoned netball player, who enjoys watching sport and listening to music.

Najmah de Villiers

BOOKKEEPER

Najmah joined the Tax Shop Sea Point in 2016 and has since gained valuable experience throughout the years. She assists the Tax Shop Durbanville with a variety of accounting functions, Payroll, VAT and AFS preparations up to trial balance. Her willingness to excel has proven her to be highly motivated and hardworking. In her spare time she loves the outdoor adventures and spending time with her family.
